The material to be cleaned is sent to the MDF by way of a natural inlet and/or by pump.
The material flows into the filter drum and is drained statically. I.e. there is no dynamic and/or mechanical stress at the filter covering. Thus the filtration can be carried out by strongly abrasive material. The solids, which are larger than the nominal mesh size of the filter covering, are held back by the covering.
Also material, which is smaller than the nominal mesh size, is held back and separated by the filter cake structure.
The filtrate flows off downward through the covering and is re-conducted to the cycle and/or into drains. The solid parts held back at the filter are sent slowly upward and are drained by the drum rotating motion.
Depending upon use, the solids on the top of the drum, are sent from the MDF by means of release chute and/or discharge spiral with high pressure, compressor or water jet etc.
The subsequent treatment of the solids depends on use.
